1 About these terms

By using TallyKnot, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with them, please do not use TallyKnot.

In these terms, "TallyKnot", "we", "our" and "us" refer to the TallyKnot service and the team that runs it. "You" means the person using TallyKnot.

2 What TallyKnot offers

TallyKnot includes the following services:

  • The TallyKnot cashbook: an expense tracker for Android and the web where you create cashbooks, record cash in and cash out, share cashbooks with members and keep recording offline.
  • The web cashbook trial: a version you can try in your browser without an account. What you enter there is kept only in that browser.
  • Free online tools: generators for invoices, quotations, receipts, salary slips and other documents, and calculators for loans, savings, budgets and everyday sums.
  • Guides and articles: information about money management and about using TallyKnot.

3 Your account

You do not need an account to use the free tools or read our articles. You need a free account to save cashbooks, sync them between your phone and the web and share them with other people.

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Use an email address that belongs to you
  • Keep your sign-in details and verification codes private
  • Be responsible for what happens in your account
  • Tell us if you think someone else is using your account

You must be old enough to accept these terms in the country where you live. If you are not, a parent or guardian must accept them for you.

4 Your records and shared cashbooks

The cashbooks, entries, notes and other information you enter belong to you. You allow us to store, process, sync and display this information only as needed to provide TallyKnot to you and to the members you choose to share with.

Sharing with members

When you invite people to a cashbook, they can see that cashbook and the entries in it, and they may add or change entries depending on their role. Only invite people you trust. You can remove a member from a cashbook you own at any time.

Keep your own copy

We work hard to keep your records safe, but no service can promise that data will never be lost. For records that matter to you, keep your own copy, for example by downloading your cashbook from the web dashboard.

TallyKnot is a record-keeping tool.

TallyKnot does not connect to your bank account or cards and does not move money. Amounts and payment methods in TallyKnot are records you enter yourself.

5 Free tools and the documents you make

Our tools help you prepare documents such as invoices, quotations, purchase orders, receipts, rent receipts and salary slips, and give you calculations for loans, savings, budgets, tax and more.

  • You are responsible for the details you enter and for checking that a finished document is correct before you use it.
  • Some documents, such as tax invoices or payslips, may have legal requirements in your country. It is your responsibility to make sure your documents meet them.
  • What you type into a tool stays in your browser. When you download a PDF, it is created on our server and is not kept after it is sent to you.
  • The documents you make are yours to use for your own personal or business purposes.

6 Not financial, tax or legal advice

Calculator results, examples and articles on TallyKnot are for general information and planning only. They are estimates based on the numbers you enter and on simple assumptions explained on each tool page.

Real loan payments, interest, investment returns and taxes can be different. Before you make an important financial decision, confirm the figures with your bank, lender or a qualified adviser.

7 Acceptable use

Please use TallyKnot fairly and lawfully. You must not:

  • Use TallyKnot for anything illegal
  • Create false or misleading invoices, receipts, payslips or other documents to deceive anyone
  • Send invitations to people who did not ask for them, or use TallyKnot to send spam
  • Try to access accounts or cashbooks that are not yours
  • Try to break, overload or get around the security of TallyKnot
  • Copy or collect content from TallyKnot in bulk with automated tools
  • Upload or enter content that is harmful, abusive or infringes someone else's rights

8 A free service supported by advertising

TallyKnot is free to use. To keep it free, we may show advertisements in the app and on the website, provided by Google and its advertising partners.

Advertisers are responsible for their own ads and websites. A link to another website does not mean we recommend it. How advertising information is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9 Changes and availability

We keep improving TallyKnot. We may add, change or remove features, and parts of the service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

If we plan to stop a main part of TallyKnot, such as the cashbook, we will try to give notice so you have time to download your records.

10 Our content and the TallyKnot name

The TallyKnot name, logo, app, website design, software, tools and articles belong to TallyKnot. You may use them only as part of using the service.

You are welcome to share links to our pages and tools. Please do not copy our articles, tools or design to publish them as your own.

11 Ending your use of TallyKnot

You can stop using TallyKnot at any time. You can delete your account from the account deletion page. When an account is deleted, its records are removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when we must do so by law. Where possible, we will tell you why.

12 No warranty

We build TallyKnot with care, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that TallyKnot will always be available, free of errors or suitable for a particular purpose.

13 Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, TallyKnot is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption, that come from using or not being able to use the service, the tools or their results.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be limited.

14 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when TallyKnot changes or when the law requires it. The new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

If you keep using TallyKnot after a change, you accept the updated terms.
