This Privacy Policy explains how TallyKnot collects, uses, stores, shares and protects information when you use the TallyKnot Android application, website and related services.
TallyKnot is a digital cashbook and expense tracking application. It allows users to create ledgers, record cash-in and cash-out entries, work offline, synchronize information between devices and share ledgers with other members.
In this Privacy Policy, "TallyKnot", "we", "our" and "us" refer to the TallyKnot service.
The information processed by TallyKnot depends on the features you use.
When you create or use a TallyKnot account, information may include:
When you use TallyKnot, you may create and store information such as:
TallyKnot does not connect directly to your bank account, debit card or credit card and does not process financial payments. Payment methods entered in TallyKnot are labels used for your own bookkeeping records.
If you use shared ledgers, TallyKnot processes information needed to manage collaboration, including:
Information entered into a shared ledger is visible to other authorized members of that ledger according to their access permissions.
TallyKnot is designed to work offline. Some information is stored locally on your device so that you can continue using the app without an internet connection.
This may include:
When an internet connection becomes available, eligible changes may be synchronized with the TallyKnot online service.
If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.
We use information only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and provide TallyKnot, including to:
We do not sell your personal account information, cashbook data or transaction records.
TallyKnot may display advertisements using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Google and its advertising technologies may automatically process technical information associated with advertising, which may include:
Advertising may be personalized, non-personalized or limited depending on your location, consent choices, device settings and Google's advertising requirements.
Google processes advertising information according to its own policies and privacy practices.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared or processed in the following situations.
When you join or create a shared ledger, authorized members may see ledger information, entries and information about which member created or modified records.
We use third-party services that help operate TallyKnot. These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services.
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or to protect the security, rights and safety of TallyKnot, its users or others.
TallyKnot uses an offline-first design.
Records may first be stored locally on your device. When internet access is available, relevant information may be sent to the TallyKnot backend and synchronized with other authorized devices or members.
Date and time values used for synchronization may be stored in a standardized UTC format and converted to your selected time zone when displayed.
Signing out does not necessarily remove all locally cached data immediately where that data is required for offline functionality. Account-specific local data is separated so information belonging to different accounts is not displayed across accounts.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide TallyKnot, maintain synchronization, protect the service and meet legitimate operational or legal requirements.
Different types of information may have different retention periods.
Deleted records may temporarily remain in backups, synchronization history, security records or deletion-processing systems before they are permanently removed.
You may request deletion of your TallyKnot account at any time using the account deletion option provided by TallyKnot.
When an account deletion request is completed, personal account information that is no longer required will be removed or disconnected from the active account according to our deletion process.
If you participated in a shared ledger, some historical financial records may remain after your account is deleted. This is necessary so that deleting one member does not corrupt the ledger history, balances or records belonging to the other authorized members.
Account deletion does not automatically mean that every historical shared transaction is deleted where that transaction forms part of another user's shared ledger.
If you need assistance with account deletion, contact us at tallyknot@gmail.com.
Depending on the feature and your permissions, you may be able to:
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by TallyKnot.
These measures include authenticated account access, restricted access to shared cashbooks, server-side permission checks and secure network connections when information is transmitted.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. You should keep your account credentials secure and avoid sharing verification codes or passwords with other people.
TallyKnot and its service providers may process information on servers located outside the country where you live.
Where required, we and our service providers use appropriate safeguards for handling personal information across regions.
We may update this Privacy Policy when TallyKnot features, technology, service providers or legal requirements change.
When we make changes, the updated version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be changed.
If a change materially affects how we handle user information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
If you have a privacy question, account deletion request or concern about how TallyKnot handles information, contact us.
