Yes. TallyKnot is designed to be free to use.

You can create ledgers, record Cash In and Cash Out, organize transactions, use shared ledgers and continue supported expense tracking when your Android device temporarily goes offline.

Banner ads are kept at the bottom

When a banner ad is available, it is kept in its own area at the bottom of the app.

It is not intended to float over your ledger records, cover the amount you are trying to read or appear directly on top of important buttons.

Keeping banner advertising in a predictable location also means we do not need to insert advertisements randomly between your financial records.

Will you see a full-screen ad after every few taps?

No. That is the type of experience we want to avoid.

Imagine trying to add several expenses and seeing a full-screen advertisement after every second or third action. Even if the app were free, it would quickly become frustrating.

TallyKnot is designed so full-screen advertisements are occasional rather than constant.

After a longer period of normal app use, TallyKnot may sometimes show a full-screen advertisement when one is available and when it is an appropriate moment to do so.

TallyKnot's supported offline ledger features work differently.

The app keeps locally available ledger information on your Android device, so losing your internet connection does not automatically make your ledger unusable.

Supported changes such as recording financial entries can be saved locally first and synchronized after the connection returns.

If your phone is offline and an advertisement cannot load, that does not stop the local ledger system from doing its own job.

Why using TallyKnot online helps support the free app

Offline support is important because we do not want an unreliable internet connection to stop you from recording an expense.

At the same time, advertising is one of the ways TallyKnot can remain free.

When you use the app normally while connected to the internet, available advertisements may be displayed. That advertising can provide a small amount of revenue that helps contribute toward keeping the app and its online services running.

You do not need to repeatedly click advertisements or change the way you use your ledger.

Simply using TallyKnot normally when you are online gives the advertising system an opportunity to support the service.

Why don't we simply show more ads?

More advertising could potentially generate more revenue, but that is not the only thing that matters.

TallyKnot is the type of app you may open for only a few seconds at a time.

You might be standing at a supermarket checkout and want to quickly record what you paid. You might receive money and want to add it before you forget. You might need to correct one amount and close the app again.

If every small action resulted in another advertisement, TallyKnot would stop being convenient.

Our goal is therefore to find a balance between keeping the app sustainable and keeping it comfortable for everyday use.

What happens when you delete a ledger entry?

When you delete a transaction, TallyKnot removes it from the active ledger and updates the affected totals when that deletion is successfully synchronized.

In a synchronized or shared ledger, another device may still temporarily have an older local copy of that transaction.

Because of that, TallyKnot can keep a minimal internal deletion record so an older device knows that the transaction was removed and should not make it active again when it reconnects.

This does not mean the deleted financial entry continues appearing in your active ledger. The deletion information exists to keep synchronized devices consistent.

What happens when you delete your TallyKnot account?

If you decide that you no longer want your TallyKnot account, you can request account deletion.

The account deletion process first removes your ability to continue using that account and starts the cleanup of personal account information.

Some cleanup can continue in the background because TallyKnot may have synchronized data stored in more than one place and needs to remove it safely without breaking other members' shared ledgers.

For example, if you previously added a transaction to a ledger that is shared with other people, deleting your personal account should not suddenly destroy the financial history that the other members still rely on.

TallyKnot therefore distinguishes between your personal account information and historical shared-ledger records that may still be necessary for the integrity of a ledger used by other members.

This cleanup is about handling account data correctly — not keeping it so it can be sold or used for advertising.

Your data is not sold because the app is free
